Some days it feels like everything is spinning out of control, that we’re just treading water to keep up with our schedules, our relationships, our finances—even the news! Everyone wants to be in control and to have control over their own life. But the reality is, many circumstances are completely out of our control. So what should we do? Give up and let ourselves be carried along by the tides of whatever happens? Prepare for the worst and white-knuckle it through each day? Join us for three weeks this spring, as we launch into a conversation about helpful strategies to help us gain control of our hearts and attitudes, as we learn how to trust a trustworthy God who has everything under control.

Did you know that the Bible unpacks the story of this great love even further, and explains that there are four different types of love? These are illustrated by four Greek words: Eros (romantic love), Storge (family love), Philia (brotherly love) and Agape (God’s divine love). For three weeks this February, Dr. Bob Laurent will be talking about love and how we can take God’s immense love for us and show it to the people who matter most.

If I Only Had More Friends

Fill in the blank. Have you ever found yourself saying, “If I only had more money, then I could really make a difference!” Or “If I only had more time, I could finally spend more time with my kids.” Those “If only…” statements we tell ourselves, instead of leading to big dreams and accomplishments, can sometimes be roadblocks that hold us back from living the life we’re meant to live in the here and now.As we step into 2020, we’re going to spend January talking about why there’s no need to wait until things are perfect or until we have a bunch of items checked off our to-do lists in order to be content and take the next step Jesus is asking of us.
